Another round of books into movies

November is bringing a slew of new movies.  Here are a few  based on some terrific books. 

Lincoln, starring Daniel Day Lewis,  is based on A Team of Rivals by Doris Kearns Goodwin.   The author examines how Lincoln’s cabinet, made up of political friends and foes alike, worked to preserve the Union.



Life of Pi, based on the novel by Yann Martel, is a rousing, thoughtful, adventurous tale of a young boy’s survival at sea, with  a tiger as his companion.



Jack Reacher is based on the novels by Lee Child.  Start with his first – Killng Floor – to learn more about this loner always caught up in solving crimes.



Cloud Atlas, based on the book of the same name by
David Mitchell, is a complex tale of lives and loves throughout time.




Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy has been imagined again in film form.  Follow the doomed love affair of Anna and Count Vronsky set against the backdrop of 19th century Russia.
